Flixweed Seeds

is used with water as a drink, mainly to quench thirst in hot weather. However, according to traditional Iranian medicine, Flixweed seeds are also considered a remedy for many other ailments.
Before use, Flixweed seeds should be washed to remove dirt and impurities. Take the desired amount of seeds with a spoon and let them soak in a bowl of water, preferably plastic, for about 5 to 10 minutes. Stir and then pour the contents into another bowl of water, washing any residue left in the first bowl. Repeat two or three times to ensure your drink is clean and safe.

Mixing Flixweed seeds with liquid extracts of chicory and watercress detoxifies the liver. The aqueous extract of tragacanth and Flixweed seeds makes an excellent drink for those suffering from kidney stones. When mixed with warm water, Flixweed seeds create a laxative drink, while mixing them with cold water turns it into a natural antidiarrheal.
